The USHL and Sportlogiq Team Up to Bring Junior Hockey to the Next Level

As part of their ongoing partnership with the NHL and USA Hockey, the USHL aims to further its dedication to hockey development in the United States by partnering with Sportlogiq to provide the league with industry-leading advanced analytics for team and player performance.

The United States Hockey League (USHL) has partnered with Sportlogiq, an AI-driven sports analytics company headquartered in Montreal, which will become the USHL’s Official Advanced Data Provider for the 2020 season.

Sportlogiq uses Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision to track players and provide leagues and teams with cutting-edge metrics and insights. Sportlogiq will produce NHL-caliber analytics for USHL teams and players such as Expected Goals, Offense Generating Plays, Loose Puck Recoveries, and much more, accessible in its pro hockey tool; iCE.

Along with members of the USHL’s front office, Sportlogiq’s data will be used for both player and on-ice officiating development. Each team and the league’s officiating staff will have instant access to this data after every game. In addition to development, the data can be used for scouting, analyzing lineups and matchups, and more, offering a never-before-seen level of insight at the junior stage.

“We’re excited to have Sportlogiq on with us this season to provide our teams and staff with top-tier analytics to further enhance our player development,” said USHL President and Commissioner Tom Garrity. “As the lone Tier I Junior Hockey league in the United States, we’re dedicated to providing our players with the best hockey experience available and capability to grow their game before moving on to the next level.”

Craig Buntin, Sportlogiq CEO, said “We are delighted to be working with the USHL on this unique partnership. From the league’s conception, the USHL has been determined to innovate, and working with Sportlogiq will allow the league to provide their teams with advanced insights throughout the season. We are committed to help bring this exciting league to the next step of player development.”
